If you ever out of Sauvie Island (be it for the nude beaches, the strawberries, or what have you), be sure to stop at Cistus Nursery - about 4 miles from the 'bridge' heading southeast. It is full of inspiration!

Only in Portland
Only in Portland do you see a dog in swim goggles on a scooter ride through downtown. It seemed to be enjoying it. I've set about to find some goggles for my chickens...

Busy Busy! After an excellent long weekend with Derra, (which produced a baby on Sunday afternoon!!), I headed down to Petaluma for a shoot. It was great to be outside for the week, beats the desk any day.
Then a couple funny things happened that are burned into my memory. One is the picture of Corey trying to push the chickens butt back inside itself, it was pretty funny (prolapsed egg vent, and eggstipated part, not funny however). Second is the image of that same chicken barfing on me. Didn't know they could barf, but they can. Third is when someone was talking about how peacocks roam around the zoo... Corey's comment was that 'they are like Mickey Mouse'. Of course.
Peacock, Mickey Mouse. Zoo, Disneyland. Of course. Like they both wander around greeting you and making you feel welcome. I personally love how my husbands brain works. Never dull.
This weekend my parents are coming so we'll definitely need to slow things down. They tire easily. And such. =)

Derra's baby
This little guy is only 23 hours old here, and he's totally adorable. His mommy and daddy totally earned him - with over 60 hours of labor. =) Aw Aw Aw.

Derra's Pregnant Party
Our dear friends are going to have a baby soon, they're the first out of our large group of couples here in Portland, so we all joined her for an evening of baby bumps. Those things GET IN THE WAY! Now I know why it takes 9 months to get that big!
The work of Hadley Hutton has been luring me back to my favorite chicken store/nursery, Pistils, for a while now, so I was super excited to find more work on Etsy! I can't wait to start collecting. Now to pick out my favorites..... that's the hard part.

Watching the Gleefull Wiffle

Full of Glee, or Ghee
Gleefully she bounded across the grass, belly full of Buckwheat-Banana-Rice-Dried Fruit Pancakes, topped with Honey, Almond Butter, Ghee, Muesli and Fresh Cream. Woohoo!
A car drove by, i put the sign down.
Corey made this lovely sign that said 'New Zealand '09'. This was our first attempt at a self-timer photo of ourselves holding it. Unfortunately a car drove by and I had to hide the sign at the last minute. Ah.... Pride.... I am not a tourist. =)
Trunkwarmers for Trees
I guess I hadn't realized, my heart and eyes have been opened. Of COURSE trees have feelings too! An apparantly these trees were feeling cold. So some nice hippies knitted trunk warmer for them. How kind. I can't wait to warm up the trees in our yard, Chels, can you teach me how to knit?!?!?
My favorite husband
Can I just say, my husbandim is pretty stinkin' cute! He dressed himself too! Great use of patterns and thrift. And an espresso. So euro. Yay! Kisses!
